  • About | Faith Tutors

Every study over the past 25 years shows that faith practices as a family (not at church) are the most powerful in keeping a person connected to faith for life.  What is a faith tutor? Welcome! Faith Tutor: Rev. Dr. Olivia Bryan Updegrove I AM... A Mom A fellow busy human juggling family, faith, and life’s chaos. A mom who needs coffee — and occasionally a margarita. A carpool uber for a band and theater kid. A mom who’s trying to raise good, faithful kids in a world that often uses Christianity as a weapon. (Ugh, right?) A Minister Passionate about helping people of all ages build a faith that lasts . An ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The Project Leader for a $1.25 million grant: Children Here! Children There! Children Worship Everywhere! Educated! I hold degrees from Lexington Theological Seminary and Claremont School of Theology. Before that, I spent over a decade serving my denomination as Minister for Ministries Across Generations with focuses on families and children. Active in intergenerational ministry circles: Intergenerate, GenOn, Just Say Know Ministries and more! An Author I’ve written children’s books, book and magazine articles, and faith formation resources. What is God? Who is Jesus? Where is Holy? There’s more to my story, but let’s be honest — if you’ve made it this far, I’m already impressed... and my dog needs to go out... again. Text TUTOR to (855) 764-2574 to recieve bi-monthly updates for resources! Messages and data rates may apply. Why a Faith Tutor? Helping families live faithfully, love deeply, and stay grounded in the story of God. Together we can... Discover easy ways to live more faithfully right where you already are. Meet your family in real, practical ways without guilt or overwhelm. Find simple rhythms, meaningful moments, and grace-filled accountability that help you grow. Discovers a transformative journey of faith that fits real life. Find what works for your life... not one-size-fits-all programs, but meaningful habits that grow faith for the long haul. Things to Note Faith Tutors will meet you where you are, but we create safe space for LGBTQAI+ families, interfaith conversations, and anyone who has experienced church trauma. Over 25 years of research shows that faith grows most deeply in homes, not just in church buildings. 79% of teens say home faith conversations shape them more than any program. (Springtide Research, 2023) Neuroscience confirms that spiritual habits build resilience and emotional well-being. (Lisa Miller, The Spiritual Child ) Only 30% of Americans regularly attend worship, but 62% of Americans still identify as Christian. (Pew Research, 2024) Welcome Olivia Get this Faith Party Started!
